So, about our roles...!

MARSHALS
What is a marshal - there are two types of marshals:
- Course Marshal: Located along the course. Eyes and ears for athlete safety.
- Feature Marshal: Located before and after important features such as gaps, drops, and jumps.

OPERATIONS
The operations volunteers are the workhorses of the event and the most dynamic role. Some duties will include setup / tear-down, lifting, fixing and troubleshooting thing, and general labour. There will be some times where you will "hurry up and wait", Ops volunteers are problem solvers and not afraid to get their hand dirty! In some cases, Ops volunteers may assist with marshalling. This role is generally not a public facing role.

STEWARDS
Stewards are the knowledgable, friendly face of the event! Duties include: answering spectator questions, monitor site safety and cleanliness, assist in minor site maintenance, and communicate/engage directly with spectators. This role may require high-level of public interaction.
They will mainly operate around the expo area and will have the easiest access to food, shade, warmth and washrooms. These roles are best for people who are not comfortable being on-mountain in the elements.
Below are the various areas where stewards may be positioned, and a brief overview of the requirements:
- Expo & Mid-Mountain: Spectator assistance, site maintenance, greeting and communications
- Finish Line: Spectator assistance, crowd interaction and communication.
- Trackside Spectator Areas: Spectator assistance, spectator flow, spectator communications, general event support

In order to participate as a volunteer, you will be presented an assumption of risk, release of liability waiver onsite on the first-day you volunteer. Please review a copy of this agreement. A signature is not required at this time.
